Mary Bodley, M.S. 2004. Fall fertilization of NT corn. Mary is now an NRCS soil conservationist in Oregon.



Renee Lorion, M.S. 2001 to present. International Peace Corps M.S. Program, Bolivia. Renee went on to earn a M.A. degree in poetry writing.



Kim Labno. M.S. 2001. Cadmium and Lead Uptake by Wheat and Potato from Phosphorus and Waste-Derived Zinc Fertilizers.



Theresa Kunch, M.S. 2001. Radar Assessment and GIS Decision Support of Cover Cropping in the Columbia Basin, 2001. Theresa is now an NRCS soil scientist in Oregon.



Jennifer Brunty, Ph. D. 1998. Cover crop management in the Columbia Basin. Jennifer now works as an environmental soil and water specialist in Florida.



Michele Mahoney. M.S. August 1996 to 1998. Wheat straw pulping liquor: potential for soil amendment and N fertilizer.



Tom Weinert, M.S. 1995. Winter cover crops to reduce nitrate leaching in irrigated potato rotations. Mr. Weinert earned a Ph.D. at U. Arizona and became an organic farming manager in Great Britain.



Shiyu Gao, Ph.D.1994. Physiological basis for enhanced ammonium nutrition responses in wheat. Dr. Gao was a senior laboratory supervisor with a Soil Search Labs in Kennewick, WA. He currently is a data manager for Group Health in Seattle.



Richard Koenig, Ph.D. 1993. Enhanced ammonium nutrition in spring wheat. Dr. Koenig went on to be an assistant/associate extension specialist at Utah State University and we hired him back to be extension soil fertility specialist at Utah State University.



Munir Mohammad, Ph.D. 1993. Increasing P and N use efficiency with deep fertilizer placement and mycorrhizal inoculation. Dr. Mohammad is currently the Dean of Agriculture at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST).



Karen Sowers, M.S. 1992. Spring nitrogen applications with point injection or topdress to optimize nitrogen use efficiency, yield and protein in soft white winter wheat. Ms. Sowers became an Extension water quality coordinator at Purdue University.



Dave Huggins, Ph.D.1991. Nitrogen use efficiency of cropping alternatives in no-till systems. Dr. Huggins became an assistant professor at University of Minnesota, and is currently an USDA-ARS Research Scientist and adjunct faculty at Washington State University.




Daniel Nelson, Ph.D.1990. Root morphology and function in relation to nutrient accumulation in the potato tuber. Dr. Nelson is currently co-owner of Soiltest Consultants in Moses Lake, WA.

Muhammad Zahid, Ph.D.1990. Inorganic nitrogen effects on soybean nodulation and nitrogen fixation. W. L. Pan and D. F. Bezdicek assumed advisory responsibilities after the retirement of F. E. Koehler.




Beth Tillman, M.S.1988. Genotypic variation for nitrogen accumulation and malting quality of spring barley genotypes under no-till conditions. S. E. Ullrich served as co-advisor. Ms. Tillman is currently a research technologist at University of Alaska.



Alston Hopkins, M.S 1988. No-till and conventionally tilled winter barley production with respect to landscape position. Mr. Hopkins became a research associate at Tennessee Valley Authority and is now a research technologist with Del Monte Corp.



Duduzile Mathaba, M.S. 1986. Root development in some acid soils of Lesotho. Dr. Mathaba became a faculty lecturer at the University of Bophuthatswana in South Africa.
